City reconstruction
The economic changes on the one hand and the demographic developments on the other have noticeable consequences for the city districts.
Qualitative requirements on life and living lead to a new shape of residency which is reflected among other things in the layout of flats. But then again we have a massive amount of unoccupied flats in some districts. Selective demolition is supposed to thwart this development, to secure a certain standard of living and of the living space.
At the present time the demolition is mainly implemented in the so called district IV (Wohnquartier IV). For 2007 at the following condition cakes in Wolfen-north and in the Krondorfer area the outline is prepared and converted:

In other district flats and buildings are renovated as well as the surroundings which are designed to fit the area.
City reconstruction is the central scope of duties of the EWN. As city reconstruction manager the EWN manages the planning- and coordinating processes between the communities, the housing industry and between providers and disposers.
